How do i want to live my life?

today, i seem obsessed by this question.
all kinds of things are going through my mind..
can i just laze through life and just move on non stop making everything a blur?
what kind of legacy will i leave in people?
and will i even leave a legacy?
what's the point of everything?
but i realise..
the question i should be asking is

who does God want me to be?

5Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
6Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
8And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross!
9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,
10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

can't believe all that was over in a flash...
US trip was soooooo fun. i can't help smiling just by thinking about it.
ok, so first we went to intel where we did some circuit thingy. it's quite cool actually but i think everyone's like super tired so whenever the person asks questions, it's just like complete silence. haha. they had quite a lot of cool stuff there like a talking robot that talks back.
then we went on DUCK tours!!! so fun. we all got our quacker thingys! and our duck captain is some weird guy from sweden whose actually quite funny. we went to see chinatown and bay bridge, etc. sast with Bea, Anna and ABigial and took so many random pictures of the streets.. Then we went to Stanford!!! At that time, everyone was talking about hsm3 so we were all like trying to guess where they shot the scene from the campus for the movie. haha. we went for a lecture first on logic mathematics. it was super sleep inducing. it's like if you look around, half of the ppl are falling asleep and trying very very hard to stay awake (including grace!!!! and myself of course) haha.. i kinda understand the whole thing which is quite cool/ THere was also this standford guy who was super fast with the rubik's cube and he showed us how he solved it in like 15 seconds. quite cool. apparently he was some champion in some rubik's competition.
Next day, we went to Alcatraz! i love that place. it is very cool! first we took a ferry there which was fun and cold and windy cos we all sat on the toppest deck. we had an audio tour which means like you hold a recorder and earphones which will guide you along the way. learnt abt Al "scarface" Capone, "birdman", etc. and learnt also abt the different escapes and the Indians who stayed there for a while. After that, we had Clam chowder at firsherman's wharf. i shared one in a bread bowl with Anna. it was super yummy. haha. abi, bea, grace, maddie and clare were all sitting down and there were pigeons EVERYWHERE. and there was this boy who was chasing them about and all them were flying around them. haha! it was super funny to see all of them cringe simultaneously. haha. then we had calamari. hmm. it made me feel sick after that.... but it tasted okay. then, we went to the California Academy of Sciences. SUPER CROWDED!!! it was so scary. really upsetting that the planetarium was closed. went to see the natural history and african what-nots. it was all quite nice. and i saw an albino crocodile!!! how cool is that!
next day. we went to the winery at Napa valley. it was a long bus ride. Vineyard was so beautiful and the weather was wonderful. we ahd a cool old guide who taught us abt the vines that get that disease that make the leaves turn red, how they make wine, etc. quite interesting. and he let us tasted the grapes too. bought a magnet from there, the cashier took super long! after that we ate A&W for lunch. Anna & I were messing with the jukebox for a while. haah. then we went to Safari West! Soooo many animals. and we saw cows with horns! We could ALMOST touch the animals cos we were so close. our guide was half korean but we couldn't really tell. tried the bubble gum ball thing which was NOT nice.
Next day, we went to the Lawrence Hall of Sciences which was somehting like science centre really except smaller and on a hilltop. Saw many cool stuff like a robot dinosaur. went for some squid lesson which was veryc ool but a little smelly. Anna & I were partners and we got a female squid! THen we had the tin can camera workshop. it was so cool. we took pictures with our tin can thingy and developed the negative photo. quite cool. then we had hot dogs and salad! yum. after that, we went to berkeley. it was very cool. they had an underground library that was four stories deep! the whole campus was very nice. so cool! after that, we had pizza which was huge! like the 18-inch kind.
Day 6, we went to the Jelly Belly factory. it was fun and... ... colorful. there were vans and cars all colorful looking like jelly beans. the factory was crowsded. we got cute factory hats when we were walking inside. guessing all the flavours with clare was super fun. i bought disgusting flavours! like the ones from harrypotter. so cool!
next day, we went to yosemite. it was soooo beautiful. the air was sooo fresh. we saw deers, ravens, squirrels and halfdome, elcaptain, mirror lake etc. mirror lake is slowly being filled up with sand though. so sad. our guide was called pete. he was veryc ool and hilarious. he was like "Photosynthesis! ahh, i love that word! Someone should make a song out of that word!" HAHAA.
he also had a small book with info about all kinds of animals inside. sooo funny. i love yosemite. it's a really lovely place. learnt about John Muir. haha. pete was like "He rocks, doesn't he?!" hahaaha.
next day was GILROY!!! i bought sooo many things. it was very hot and sunny though.
day 9 was DISNEY LAND!!!! had a leadership course. our guide was Marie who totlaly reminded us of minnie mouse cos her voice is super high pitched. anna got made the leadership inspirational atom!!!! HAHAHAAHAH!!!! i got made curiosity(?). we ot to ride pirates of teh caribean but at the same time we ahd to ask our partner radom questions to be active listeners or something like that. haha. then we went to do brainstorming which was actually quite dumb. then we went on SPLASH MOUNTAIN!!! so cool. i raised my hands up when we went down the giant slope. so fun!
next day was DISNEYLAND again. got a physics workshop and a guide called Josh. it was qutie fun. sat ont he maliboomer which was my first "drop" ride. it'll launch you up in the air and then drop you. but it was kinda short. then we ride the Mulholland Madness wild mouse coaster, super fun! haha,. made our own model coaster but we couldn't get it to work properly. haha. then we ride the grizzly rapids thingy. so cool. but the water made everyone get rashes. eww. had popcorn, cherros and salad for lunch, yum,. we ride SOOO many rides, like the monsters inc, tower of terror which was super freaky, california screamin! <<>
the last day, we had a tour of LA~!!
went to sunset boulevard, hollywood bowl, saw the hollywood sign, the chinese theatre, the kodak theatre, and saw all the starts along the street and the handprints and footprints... apparently, we passed lindsay lohan hha so cool. got stopped my some guy in a zorro costume outside the theatre. there were batman, elvis, etc. outside the theatre who wanted to take pictures. but we had to pay so none of us took with them. then we went to UNIVERSAL STUDIOS!!! went on the studio tour which was super cool. saw the sets for jaws, war of the worlds aeroplane thing, fast the furios tokyo drift cars, back to the future cars, the mummy, experienced an earthquake thingy underground. so fun! and we went pass the psycho hotel. the one with norman bates. it was cool. cos he started chasing the tram with a knife. cos we were all like sitting at the back, so we SCREAMED like crazy. hahaa. and he scared us a second time again. then we went on the simpsons ride which was super amusing especially the last part where they took picture of us. HAHA. then we sat on Jurassic Park which wasnt very scary. then we sat the mummy roller coaster... it goes backwards!! so cool. lots of head choppers, no real slopes. we went on it twice!!!! ther was a guy dressed in a mummy suit who scared bea twice! HAHAHA. it was super funny. she kept walking into him... haha. then we went into the house of horrors. FREAKY! the whole thing was like cold and sets were like scary. there were people who like came out of nowhere to scare you. we were screaming like crazy. and we were singing abc. which in my opinion, made it way scarier. there was one set where there bodies in plastic bags hanging from the ceiling. so scary!!! i was so afraid that one of them would come alive or something. haha. at the end, when we saw the door we screamed and ran for it... there were people outside who stared at us weirdly. ahahahahhha!!!
so fun!
but this universal didn't have the spiderman ride like the one in japan. :(
sigh...
i think i'll remember this trip forever.
i think i got my whole body clock like messed up. cos i slept at like 4pm just now and woke up at 10pm for dinner. so now i'm super awake. and there's choir tmr from 8.50-5... sigh...
how???!!!

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realise they were big things.

then on the next day, i watched cloverfield at home on dvd.
it's nice! although the whole thing was shaky, but itw as really quite scary..
it's good.

Ecclesiastes 12:1
"Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near when you will say, "I have no delight in them" "

Sang this song in church today
a good reminder that God is the one in control, the creator

This is my Father's world,
and to my listening ears
all nature sings, and round me rings
the music of the spheres.
This is my Father's world:
I rest me in the thought
of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;
his hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father's world,
the birds their carols raise,
the morning light, the lily white,
declare their maker's praise.
This is my Father's world:
he shines in all that's fair;
in the rustling grass I hear him pass;
he speaks to me everywhere.

This is my Father's world.
O let me ne'er forget
that though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the ruler yet.
This is my Father's world:
why should my heart be sad?
The Lord is King; let the heavens ring!
God reigns; let the earth be glad!

9:36 PM

everything is meaningless.

Ecclesiastes 1:2-11
""Meaningless! Meaningless!"
says the Teacher
"Utterly meaningless!
Everything is meaningless."

What does man gain from all his labor
at which he toils under the sun?

Generations come and generations go,
but the earth remains forever.

The sun rises and the sun sets
and hurries back to where it rises

The wind blows to the south
and turns to the north
round and round it goes,
ever returning on its course.

All streams flow into the sea,
yet the sea is never full.
To the place the streams come from,
there they return again.

All things are wearisome,
more than one can say.
The eye never has enough of seeing,
nor the ear its fill of hearing.

What has been will be again,
what has been done will be done
again;
there is nothing new under the sun.

Is there anything of which one can say,
"Look! This is something new"?
It was here already, long ago;
it was here before our time.

There is no remembrance of men of old,
and even those who are yet to come
will not be remembered
by those who follow."

(NIV)

everything is meaningless,
no satisfaction, no destination.

not unless there's God
in your life.

sigh
i think i'm relaxing too much
and it's having some kind of effect on my brain...
partly because i've been wasting all my hours playing 60 minute free trial games on the internet.
haha.
i realise that end of years pass really fast.
i mean like the first week of it passed and all i can remember is going into a classroom filled with people studying, trying to memorise stuff (like cherry, you should see her trying to memorise MEP stuff, it was like she was possessed!) and then going to the hall where you hear people shrieking about forgetting to bring their IC, then doing the paper, then getting a stupid headache, then taking the bus to go home to
study.
it's like repetitive.
haha
can't wait for exams to END!!!

"My brothers and sisters, when you have many kinds of troubles,
you should be full of joy, because you know that these troubles test your faith,
and this will give you patience.
Let your patience show itself perfectly in what you do. Then you will be perfect and complete and will have everything you need."
James 1:2-4

today was quite a good break. :)
we should have more day-offs to mug!
but i was mugging mep for quite long and going through all the math formulas
haha
now i'm like listening to all the mep world music on the com. haha.
can't wait for ALL the exams to be over!!!

haha i just watched the super old mr bean movie today. the first one when he went to america.
HAHA. so funny. i think it's better than mr bean's holiday.
one of the funniest parts ever:
"Why am I worried about this? You did it! All I gotta do is go tell 'em what happened. But they'll say, "Who left him alone with the picture?" And I'll say, "Me". And they'll say, "You're fired" and I'll say, "Fine". They'll say, "No, no, no, firing's not good enough. Let's prosecute you for negligence". I go to jail, my wife leaves me, my daughter becomes a prostitute, I wind up on death row sharing a cell with Butch McDick!"
Hahaha! funny!
sigh
can't wait for all this to be over so i can go watch all my favourite movies again..

"The LORD is my light and my salvation
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life
of whom shall I be afraid?
"
